I am a degreed accountant with 22 years of accounting experience in the corporate world. I recently became certified as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and am excited to take your business into the future utilizing QuickBooks Online and a host of 3rd party applications to meet your business needs!
I have loved Accounting from my very first Accounting class I took in high school. Learning about debits and credits and how the books balanced made sense to me. I could add across the ledgers and down the rows and balance to the penny. I took the love of Accounting with me to college where I majored in Business with a Concentration in Accounting. Since then, I have served in many roles of Accounting and Finance including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory Control, Cash Management, and FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis).
Prior to launching Sweet Results Bookkeeping, I worked in corporate accounting for a large retail organization in many Accounting & Finance roles. As Director of Accounting, I had oversight of many financial areas of the business, but as any job where you are a small cog in a large machine, it was not as rewarding as helping small business owners with their journey to financial success. At the same time I was working the corporate gig, I also had a side-hustle job, helping a non-profit with their monthly accounting, bookkeeping and reporting needs. This is where my talents were truly appreciated! This is why I chose to launch my own business, utilizing my education and skills to help small businesses, entrepreneurs, freelancers and creatives with their accounting needs.
In my spare time, you can find me getting my daily FitBit steps while listening to podcasts, working on a jigsaw puzzle or in the kitchen baking delicious treats for my family and friends! I have always had a love of baking. My mom and I would bake cookies, cakes and pies together. Recipes, like accounting, always had the right answer. If you have the right ingredients, understand the techniques, and can follow a recipe, you can create delicious masterpieces with practice. As an avid home baker, I also realize that baking requires precision, accuracy and attention to detail… just like accounting. Feel free to check out the My Bakes category of our Blog posts if you’d like to see some of my bakes and favorite recipes.
If you want things to turn out right, hiring someone who enjoys baking to handle your books is a recipe for success!
